Hello! Victorious4life readers. The inspiration for this journey came from my attendance at a Black Maternal Health Summit last summer, organized by Illinois 14th District representative, Lauren Underwood. It was a profound experience where I listened to impactful stories from women who faced challenges such as pregnancy complications and the lack of medical attention to their symptoms. Among the conditions discussed were Pre-eclampsia, characterized by high blood pressure and fluid retention during pregnancy, and Placenta abruption, which involves the detachment of the umbilical cord from the uterine wall. Interestingly, I realized that I had encountered both of these conditions during my first two pregnancies. I will share more details about my experiences another time. Let's come together to educate ourselves about the significant health issues affecting women and take proactive steps to maintain our well-being. Let's embark on this journey together!
